Tonight, We Are Young || Tam

This week had been utter shit for Tina. There was no other way to describe it and she really didn’t even want to try. Just knowing what Patrick was most likely up to, then having to deal with school and money just made Tina want to get out and let loose. Then, of course, Blaine had to come along and piss her off even more. Acting all holier-than-thou again just like he had been lately. With everything bearing down on her, Tina felt like she would explode at any given moment so instead she opted to head off to her old bar with Sam to drink for a bit. After quickly getting changed and making sure she looked good, Tina left Mike and Quinn’s apartment and made her way to the familiar club in no time. As soon as she passed through the doors, a small laugh passed her lips. Nothing had changed since the day she started working there. It was easy to spot Sam at the bar, his blonde messy hair was like a flashing light to direct her his way. She walked up behind him and winked at the bartender before sliding unto the stool next to him. “Hey there Sammy. Have you started without me?” Before she could even ask, a sprite and Soco was in front of her and she nodded at the man.

He was about half way done with his first drink before Tina arrived. Sometimes Sam wasn’t entirely aware of the pace he was taking and needed to take moments to step back from what he was doing just to slow down. It wasn’t an intentional thing by any means. He would just zone out sometimes when he started to drink and wouldn’t notice that he had drank quite a bit until he was already drunk. That was just something else he needed to work on. It was comforting for him to see the familiar face of his Asian friend walk into the bar. In high school she had been the calm force of nature and he somewhat admired that she could be who she was without caring what others thought. The Tina he saw now wasn’t quite the same one. She had been broken by more recent events and he couldn’t really blame her for wanting to drink because of that. “Hey Tina,” he greeted with a nod as she sat next to him. “Sorry to start without you but it’s been a while since I’ve had the drink that shares my first name. Sam Adam’s.” He chuckled a bit at this before looking over to her. “So what’s this about an apartment? I of all people know what it’s like to be…homeless.” He raised his brow as he recalled the time when he was stuck without somewhere to live for a while. Luckily he had friends to help him through and the least he could do was support a friend going through something similar.

Tonight, We Are Young || Tam

It was fair to say that Sam had been stressed by classes and assignments lately. Even so much that his social life was declining and he wasn’t keeping in touch with his friends as well as he could have hoped for. He sometimes wished they could move back to the days when they were all in Glee club together and could escape everything else with their music. Not that he wouldn’t still play his guitar sometimes or have jam sessions with his room mate, but it just wasn’t really the same. Those who remembered were those who used to be there with him and Sam still related to those people better than anyone else. Or at least some of them. The ones that had stuck with him through the harder times with his family and slumps.

Stepping into the club, Sam just felt an odd familiarness wash over him. It wasn’t a bad feeling, but it had been a bit of time since he had been there and worked there as well. He had barely been able to break from it before he got another job at a local video gaming store. Something more suitable for his personality and that peaked his interest. Tina would be meeting him there and he could tell that she wasn’t going through a very good time right then. Even if he didn’t end up drinking too much that night, he could still be there to support her at the very least. He had a hard time admitting his own alcohol dependencies, but he was also having trouble pulling away from that. Sitting down at the bar, the worker recognized him and slid him his usual draft without asking. Sam looked around a bit shiftily before taking it to sip while waiting for Tina to arrive.
